Lessons from a Rainbow
Oh Goodness Me! As I was driving the boys home after rehearsal, the colors to my left were catching my attention. If you have driven the upper highway, you know that it is a long stretch of lava hills covered with grass that sway in the wind.
Focusing on the road up ahead is the norm with the wild pigs, goats, peacocks and the occasional owl (when driving at night). You never know when one is going to dart across the road so you always need to be watching out. Driving the winding road, curving around the hills, the colors all around are pretty much the same unless you go by a jacaranda or Ohia tree in bloom! Right now, the Jacarandas are in full bloom and as the flowers fall, it creates a beautiful purple blanket on the ground.
There were no colorful trees on that section of the road when the intensity of colors grabbed the corner of my left eye. What a rainbow that was and the full intensity didn’t “hit” me as my attention was on the road. I decided to Seize The Moment.
Upper Road…..Mamalahoa Highway
The boys wondered why I was pulling over and opening my window. How could I enjoy and grasp the awesomeness of that rainbow if I kept on driving? The picture I took (see above in the header) doesn’t do it justice. The vibrancy! Wow!
And within a few moments, it was gone. It faded and shrank until it was completely gone. If I had waited another 30 seconds, I would have missed it.
There are so many things in life that are like that rainbow.
Unique! And if we don’t pay attention, we lose out.
It can be a job or the chance to start a business.
It can be our health. –>> Start with a good nutrition << —
It can be relationships. — >> Reach out to Someone That Matters Today << —
As you focus on what you need to do, remember to keep an eye on the big picture. Wouldn’t want you to miss the rainbows of your life.
Carpe Diem! Seize The Day! ……………..or how about ……….. Seize The Moment!
Make tomorrow amazing….. It starts with You today!
